Police Department officials presented a number of awards and citations to members of the community including firefighters and its own police officers. Commendations were bestowed during the Borough Council meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 7, primarily for outstanding service during Hurricane Irene and the other recent storms that hit the area.
Dave Cahill and his brother James Cahill of River Net Computers received Honorable Service Award certificates for their dedication during Hurricane Irene.
